Successful Implementation of Railway Surveillance Video Intelligent Analysis System at China Railway Hohhot Bureau Group Co. Ltd
Project Introduction
Locomotive operation safety is the top priority of railway train safety. To ensure the safe operation of locomotives, onboard video surveillance systems have been installed successfully to electric and internal combustion locomotives, and the widespread use of this system has elevated the standard operation of locomotive crews to a new level. The general use of video monitoring systems has yielded a large amount of video monitoring data, which has become an essential basis for managing the locomotive system. Still, these video surveillance data have not yet been fully utilized as they should be.
At present, the use and analysis of these video data mainly rely on manual viewing, which is costly and inefficient in terms of labor and may also result in omissions due to human negligence. It is vital to deepen the identification and control of locomotive safety risks and strengthen the identification and management of hidden locomotive safety hazards.
System Overview
Our locomotive audio and video intelligent analysis system consists of an audio and video data analysis client, algorithm server, and storage server, which can realize automatic data upload, background analysis, and storage functions.
It realizes the use of 5G technology to achieve 1.7G high-speed vehicle-to-ground wireless communication in the 60GHZ millimeter-wave frequency band to transmit the onboard video to the ground, enabling the intelligent analysis system to analyze the violation points independently according to different strategies. The deployment of analytical algorithm servers in the Hoonan foldback section can support 38 vehicles and save 90 days of violation videos.
System Strength
The audio-video intelligent analysis management platform uses real-time video images for acquisition and analysis. It then carries out systematic data statistics and intelligent analysis to achieve a scientific evaluation of cabin crew. It has the following advantages over other video capture software.

Able to accurately determine the real-time status of the steward, whether the violation, timely warning issued.
2, real-time storage of violation records
It is possible to record the status, duration, number of vehicles, vehicle number, and violation items of each violation in real-time and converge them into a trend chart, which is convenient for long-term status record analysis.
